Affiliate disclosure

In plain terms: some links on Home Systems Sizing are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This helps keep our calculators free. It does not change which products we suggest or the size our calculator recommends.

The details

Home Systems Sizing is published by Cedarstone Ventures and is supported by affiliate partnerships, including the Amazon Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. We may also participate in other affiliate programs with home-improvement and HVAC retailers.

When a link is an affiliate link, you'll see it labeled (for example, "Recommended gear · affiliate"). The commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not your wallet — you pay the same price you would otherwise.

How this affects our recommendations

  • It doesn't change the math. Our calculators are vendor-neutral. The BTU number you get is the same whether or not a product is linked, and we never inflate a size to sell a larger unit.
  • We do not fabricate prices, specifications, ratings, or review counts. Where you see "check current price," that's because pricing changes constantly and we won't quote a number we can't stand behind.
  • We suggest gear that genuinely matches the size on the page — not whatever pays most. We sell no equipment ourselves and have no inventory to move.

Not professional engineering advice

Home Systems Sizing provides general equipment-sizing estimates and planning tools using a Manual-J-lite method. It is not a substitute for a professional Manual-J load calculation or a licensed HVAC contractor's assessment, which you should obtain before a whole-home or permitted installation.
